Footloose is making a comeback – and this go around, Zac Efron is on board to play the role that put Kevin Bacon on the map.

Zac Efron will be played a hefty amount for Footloose – Paramount Pictures has offered the High School Musical hottie a “mid-seven-figure salary” and script approval to get this project up and running.

Footloose, starring Zac Efron, is expected to begin production in Spring 2009.
