
A sad day for fans of Oscar-winning visual effects artist Stan Winston — the special-effects genius died yesterday after suffering from cancer. Stan Winston was 62.
For those unfamiliar with the name Stan Winston, his visual effects resume was nothing short of spectacular. Stan Winston’s Oscar winning work for visual effects includes 1986’s “Aliens, “1992’s “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” and 1993’s “Jurassic Park.”
Stan Winston also worked on Terminator, Predator, Edward Scissorhands, Batman Forever, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and A.I.: Artificial Intelligence.
Stan Winston’s most recent work was creating the suits worn by Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man and his work on the upcoming Terminator Salvation: The Future begins.
Stan Winston suffered for seven years from multiple myeloma cancer, according to a representative from Stan Winston Studio.
