Tom Cruise’s “Valkyrie” to Open December 26

Tom Cruise’s “Valkyrie” has been plagued by a moving opening date. It was last reported that the film would open February 13, but Variety is now reporting that “Valkyrie” will open December 26 – getting it in just under the wire for 2008.
According to sources close to the film, the move to a 2008 opening was made for “purely commercial reasons,” – a screening of the film went well, so the studio wants to release it during the holidays.
And getting it in for 2008 Oscar consideration wasn’t part of the opening date move for Valkyrie? Hmmm.
