Ryan Reynolds plans to run in the upcoming New York City marathon. But how will the uber-fit actor do in the race?

One things for certain – Ryan Reynolds fears the bleeding nipples that accompany marathon runs, writing in a Huffington Post entry:

“I saw guys coming in to finish with bleeding nipples. Why in the hell were their nipples bleeding? People were crying. People were limping, hobbling, screaming, crawling… I breathed in deeply and decided something: I’d never f—ing do that ever, ever. What in the f— were these idiots thinking? Bleeding nipples. Bleeding. Nipples.”

Ryan Reynolds is willing to bleed a little for the November 2 NYC Marathon, when he’ll run for Team Fox, in support of Michael J. Fox’s foundation that fights against Parkinson’s Disease.

Ryan Reynolds has a personal connection too – his father, Jim, has suffered with Parkinson’s Disease for 15 years.

“I’m running in The ING NYC Marathon as a member of Team Fox because I support the Foundation’s urgent mission and I believe that together we can improve the lives of those living with Parkinson’s and put an end to this disease.”
