Robert Downey Jr. to Play Vampire Lestat in Latest Anne Rice Book to Film

I’m waiting for this one to be debunked… but in the meantime, I’d love to see this happen. Buzz is that Robert Downey Jr. will take over the role of Lestat in the newest film based on Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles.
Lestat was played by Tom Cruise in 1994’s Interview With the Vampire, and by Stuart Townsend in 2002’s Queen of the Damned.
Robert Downey Jr. is reportedly in talks with Universal Pictures to play the role, though there’s been no confirmation yet that a deal is in the works.
