I’ve just got to see how this plays out — a remake or “reimagining,” as it’s being called, of the 1975 Disney film “Escape to Witch Mountain” is in the works.

“Race to Witch Mountain” will star Carla Gugino as an astrophysicist/UFO expert and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as a Las Vegas cab driver.

Alexander Ludwig (”The Seeker”) and AnnaSophia Robb (”Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Bridge to Terabithia”) will play the psychic siblings that Gugino and Dwayne help out. A 2009 release date is planned.
