The Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas went down over last week and in a closed-door meeting, Disney/Pixar told buyers that a sequel to Monsters Inc is in the works. Disney fanatic Jim Hill, who was in attendance at the event, got the news first-hand from insiders at the secret session.

While obviously no public details have been released about Monsters Inc 2, many are speculating when it will hit the big screen.

At Comic-Con 2008, director Pete Docter answered a question about a possible Monsters Inc. sequel, saying, “We’ve thought about it… We’ve got a couple ideas.”

With Pixar projects announced through 2012, that leaves many to believe a Monsters Inc. 2 release in 2013.
