Hey, remember the 1984 David Lynch film verion of the 1965 novel “Dune”? Or the 2000 Sci Fi Channel miniseries, starring William Hurt? A remake of “Dune” is going to make the jump to the big screen again, with Peter Berg set to direct.
Written by Frank Herbert, “Dune” is one of those great futuristic stories that sci-fi fans go nuts for, and it’ll be cool to see the 80s film get an update in the special effects department.
Peter Berg has the credibility to direct “Dune,” having helmed the upcoming Will Smith vehicle “Hancock,” as well as “The Kingdom” and “Friday Night Lights.”
