The Daily Telegraph had recently falsely reported that actress Nicole Kidman had breached her promotional contract for Chanel No 5 perfume. Today, she accepted damages for this claim, though there were few details, other than that the Telegraph would pay her legal costs and substantial damages. Kidman will donate the “damages” to an UN women’s fund.
Kidman currently stars in the Golden Compass, which while it was at the top of the box office last weekend, is not doing as well as expected. It’s also the subject of religious controversy.
