Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell to Play Villains in Iron Man 2?
Mickey Rourke is definitely making a comeback since his amazing turn in The Wrestler – he and the equally amazing Sam Rockwell are in talks to play villains in “Iron Man 2.” Woah – Rourke, Rockwell, Don Cheadle and Robert Downey Jr.? Sign me up.
While specific details of their villainous roles are not known, Rourke is rumored to play a Russian named Ivan who becomes Whiplash, who has deadly coils.
Sam Rockwell would appear as Justin Hammer, a multibillionaire businessman – and naturally – rival of Tony Stark/Iron Man.
Iron Man 2 is expected to hit theaters on May 7, 2010.
Mickey Rourke will next be seen in “The Informers” and just joined the cast of “The Expendables,” starring Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Jason Statham and Dolph Lundgren (wow, remember him?!).
Sam Rockwell was last seen in “Choke” and “Frost/Nixon.”
