The stars were on hand for last night’s premiere of Michael Jackson’s concert rehearsal film, “This Is It,” opening in theaters today. But how are Michael Jackson “This Is It” reviews?

So far, as reviews for This Is It roll in, the film has been given fairly solid marks.

USA Today:

“If This Is It doesn’t miraculously restore the middle-aged Jackson to his past glory, it at least offers glimpses of his bygone greatness, and poignant suggestions of what might have been.”

Variety:

“There’s an incredible amount to enjoy here, and the star’s fans will be in rapture. Though Jackson looks painfully thin at times, his vocal prowess and dancing ability seem to have scarcely ebbed at all in the decade he spent offstage.”

CinemaBlend.com:

“Even without the glitzy appeal of Jackson, there’s a story about artistic collaboration in there that’s worth seeing.”

TIME:

“Michael Jackson will have no resurrection — in the end, that was that — but the movie does earn him a redemptive legacy. It proves that, at the end, he was still a thriller.”
