Michael Douglas is devastated by his son Cameron’s drug arrest, as he expresses in a family statement. Michael Douglas released the following statement: “The family is devastated and very disappointed in Cameron’s recent behavior. Any family who has dealt with substance abuse knows how devastating it can be.”

Michael Douglas issued the statement on behalf of himself and Cameron’s mother, Diandra Luker.

Michael Douglas is devastated about Cameron’s arrest for possession of methamphetamines with the intent to distribute, for which he faces between 10 years to life in prison.

Cameron’s girlfriend made matters worse when she smuggled heroin concealed in an electric toothbrush, as Cameron Douglas had asked her to do, violating his home detention. A private security company was watching him, found the drugs and alerted authorities.

Cameron is being held at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City.
