Less than a week after Heath Ledger’s death (and preceded recently by the deaths of Brad Renfro, Susanne Pleshette, Allan Melvin and Maila Nurmi/Vampira), Christian Brando has died, possibly of pneumonia, which he’d caught earlier this month.

Troubled Christian Brando, who often went by the name Gary Brown, was the oldest child of acting legend Marlon Brando and Anna Kashfi (Marlon’s first wife). Christian was convicted of manslaughter in the shooting death in 1990 of Dag Drollet, his half-sister Cheyenne’s boyfriend. Christian was also sentenced to three years probation in 2005 for spousal abuse of Deborah Presley. (Presley claims to be an illegitimate daughter of Elvis Presley.)

Christian was also initially implicated in the death of startripper Bonny Lee Bakley, who was simultaneously dating him and Robert Blake. Blake claimed Brando did it, but was charged, aquitted, then found liable in civil court.
