Like Philip K. Dick Movies? Try Jack Womack Books
By the way, if you like Philip K. Dick movies, you’ll probably like a lot of his dystopian science fiction short stories and novels. And in that case, you might also like the speculative/science fiction writing of Jack Womack.
Womack’s writing is ripe for film adaptations, especially Random Acts of Senseless Violence, Ambient, Terraplane and Elvissey. (Actually that’s almost his entire catalog, as far as I know.) The latter is about one alternate Earth that worships Elvis. Two agents are sent on a mission to kidnap a 1954 Elvis from another alternate Earth. Except that he’s a murderer and doesn’t want to be worshipped.
Sideshow Films announced that they have the rights to Random Acts, but their website points to Amazon and doesn’t elaborate. I’m hoping that someone does Elvissey. Maybe starring Nicolas Cage, since he’s such a big fan of Elvis (whose birthday was yesterday)? No? I guess I’ll have to add it to my list of screenplays to write.
