King Kong Poster Grabs $345,000 in Auction

Wow, that’s one heck of a King Kong poster — during a two-day auction of Hollywood memorabilia, a six-sheet King Kong poster (for the 1933 film) grabbed $345,000 from the winning bidder.
Overall, the Profiles in History auction of more than 1,100 pieces of memorabilia raised $4.1 million.
Other items in the sale that fetched big bids: $103,500 for Michael Keaton’s complete Batman costume from “Batman Returns,” $51,750 for Julie Andrews’ “Mary Poppins” coat and $46,000 for “Captain Kangaroo” star Bob Keeshan’s jacket and pants.
