Kevin Smith’s “Zack & Miri Make a Porno” – Box Office Smash or Bomb?
The upcoming Kevin Smith film, “Zack & Miri Make a Porno” is getting some early buzz — because of the name. Can a movie with “porno” in the title be a box office smash or a bomb?
“Zack & Miri Make a Porno,” starring Seth Rogan and Elizabeth Banks, is currently shooting in Pennsylvania.
Seth Rogan and Elizabeth Banks play friends who are so broke they turn to making a porno to pay the bills. But hey, there’s a heart to the story too. Their characters discover they love each other in the process.
Will the movie’s title turn off movie goers?
According to Kevin Smith, “We’re just hoping that by the time the movie comes out, if the marketing people do their jobs right, it’s a word that people will kind of get over.”
Movie analyst Jeff Bock says of the title, “It’s one of the best titles of the year.”
Bock also notes that Kevin Smith fans are loyal: “They’ll follow him anywhere. I don’t think anything is too risqué for Kevin Smith fans.”
