Julie Christie Had a Secret Half-Sister

The Daily Mail revealed today that actress Julie Christie (pictured above) - who is nominated for an Oscar as Best Actress for her role in Away From Her, and for which she won a Golden Globe and a SAG Award - had a secret older half-sister, June. June was Frank St. John Christie’s daughter by one the tea-pickers on his plantation in India (Julie was born in India, too). But while Frank loved June, she was kept mostly secret, especially when he married Rosemary Ramsden (Julie’s mother) in 1937. June later moved to the UK, after Frank’s death, and became a midwife. Julie Christie has reportedly never made any reference to June nor ever met her. June died in 2005 at the age of 70.
