Jim Carrey, Jake Gyllenhaal to Star in “Damn Yankees” Remake

Jim Carrey and Jake Gyllenhaal are warming up their vocal chords to star in a remake of the musical “Damn Yankees.”
The musical team behind “Hairspray” are producing “Damn Yankees,” which got its start on Broadway in 1955 (earning seven Tony Awards).
Damn Yankees’ main characters are Joe Boyd, who makes a deal with the devil to play baseball as slugger Joe Hardy. The deal can be reversed but his deadline is during the World Series. Lost soul Lola is around to seduce him and lock in the deal.
Jim Carrey will play the devil, while Jake Gyllenhaal will play Boyd.
