Hollywood Writers Still On Strike. No Movie Awards Shows?
Striking Hollywood writers will not be writing for the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards. Their union, Writers Guild of America (WGA), will not approve a temporary moratorium on the strike.
Well that’s fantastic, as far as I’m concerned, as most awards show jokes suck. The real problem, though, is that many Hollywood celebs have said that they’ll boycott the awards shows in this case, unless contractually obligated to attend. I’m not sure that this means the awards won’t still be granted.
Either way, I’m hoping this strike will be settled soon. Most of my favorite TV shows are already in reruns. On the plus side, I’m getting to see all the episodes of Criminal Minds that I missed. The video clip below shows a goofy parody by none other than Mandy Patinkin, who has left the show.
