The Oscars In Memoriam montage is to pay tribute to those who died between the dates of Feb 1 and Jan 31 of the previous year. Hence why Heath Ledger was in the 2008 and not 2009 version.

Lest you have forgotten, he was the final, and most emphasized, person in the 2008 montage. It wouldn’t do to have him in two memoriam montages.

I didnt see Heath Ledger in the Memoriam montage. Is there a reason why, he did die in
Jan of 08…shouldnt he have been included?
Or was he put in when they had the screen so small and Queenie was singing. I agree..It was annoying although she sang beautifully, it shoundnt have been done while the pictures where being shown. WAS he or was he not inculded? Heath???

This Memoriam was the worst ever, it ticks me off watching them distract viewers with their awkward screen angles and movements when they should be focusing 100% on those who passed away.

It turned what should have been an emotional few minutes into an annoying, frustrating experience.
