If you read the slusho website it practically reads as if you were describing the life of a Deep One. It was not Cthulhu, but it was his closest cousin! Deep Ones are said to move about on two legs and on all fours in an erratic behavior, occasionally hopping when out in the open. They breathe with lung-like gills which form on the sides of the neck. The make bleating, croaking noises which sound quite disturbing.
The town of Innsmouth was near Boston and Manhattan Island is only 200 miles away. The city where Father Dagon and Mother Hydra reside practically splits the difference between the two cities. Now, if anyone has any questions as to what the island on Lost is....read a book. Start in the fiction section with authors whose last names begin with L.
