While we don’t typically hear much from Christian Bale (What? A major celebrity who flies under the radar?!), he is opening up a bit about the late Heath Ledger in the upcoming issue of Parade magazine.

Christian Bale talks about Heath Ledger, who plays the Joker in the latest installment of the Batman franchise - The Dark Knight.

Christian Bale says in the Parade interview:

“Listen, I want to talk about Heath. He was a unique character, a very infectious character. He was a good man, and I was glad to have spent time with him. It takes a long time to accept that someone’s gone, when all body and mind are telling you that this is somebody you will know for a great deal of time.”

Christian Bale hopes that people will see The Dark Knight for the righ reasons - not because of some dark interest in Heath Ledger’s death, but rather see it as a celebration of his work:

“This movie is not a personal home video.”
