Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny turned out for Wednesday’s premiere of the new X-Files movie, “The X Files: I Want To Believe” at Mann’s Grauman Chinese Theatre. And neither of them look too thrilled.

As if we needed another reason to flock to the movie theater July 25 to see The X-Files: I Want to Believe – David Duchovny is promising that their will be “some skin” for fans to enjoy.
In the July 14 issue of TV Guide, David Duchovny says their initial script reading “was more sentimental than our actual reunion” because “I realized that Gillian and I have changed over the years, but when you start reading these people, they haven’t. Pop Candy blogger Whitney Matheson reported a number of things from New York’s Comic Con, among them, some updates she got from The X-Files movie panel.
Unfortunately, not too many details were given out, with director/writer Christ Carter and writer/producer Frank Spotnitz commenting that “there are just too many opportunities for spoiler sites to ruin our fun.”
The New York Comic Con X-Files movie panel did provide this update: the movie, titled “I Want to Believe,” will take place in the present day (six years after the end of the series) and will focus on Mulder and Scully.
You’d think they could have thrown X-Files fans a few more clues, right?
Things are heating up for the new X-Files movie — including a title, finally! Looks for “The X-Files: I Want to Believe” when it hits theaters July 25.
Director and co-writer Chris Carter commented on the title, saying, “It’s a natural title. It’s a story that involves the difficulties in mediating faith and science. ‘I Want to Believe.’ It really does suggest Mulder’s struggle with his faith.”
Plus it’s the phrase in the famed poster from Mulder’s office (seen in the photo above).

Yes, another shaky look at the new X-Files movie — this is the latest trailer video taken at yesterday’s Paley Festival X-Files panel. Lots o’ juicy tidbits there, but movie goers must wait until July 25.
