It’s the countdown to the 2008 MTV Movie Awards (Sunday, June 1st) — and isn’t one of the best parts of the show always the short films? There’s always so much funny packed into the short bits that weave throughout the awards show and MTV has enlisted Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr. and Jack Black to create their own short films. Check them out this Sunday!
Mike Myers will host the MTV Movie Awards and has created two short films of two new characters.
Ben Stiller’s short film is said to be a “very funny tribute to viral films.”
With the incredible success of “Iron Man” at the box office, it’s no surprise that Robert Downey Jr. is in hot demand. His next project is taking on the role of Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner.

Not surprisingly, plans for a sequel to the uber successful Iron Man are already in the works — Iron Man 2 is expected to hit theaters April 30, 2010.
And more Marvel comics will be hitting the big screen too — Thor, with a June 4, 2010 release date, The First Avenger: Captain America, due in theaters May 5, 2011, The Avengers (July 2011) and Ant-Man (no release date available).
Naturally, this early in the game, no announcements about casting the new Marvel comic films have been made.
Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr. (and directed by Jon Favreau) is expected to have a colossal opening weekend. But are the Iron Man reviews any good — is it really worth seeing?
