The Today show video clip gives a glimpse at some experpts from the book, which tells of Patrick Swayze and Niemi’s life together – a 34 year romance, with all its ups and downs.

The Time of My Life memoir will be available on September 29.

Patrick Swayze was 57-years-old.

According to his rep: “Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months.”

Rest in peace.

In the new pictures, Patrick Swayze appears to have gained some weight – his face looks fuller and he has hair on his head and even a goatee.

The pictures of Patrick Swayze showed tubes hanging from his shirt (thought to be catheters for his chemotherapy), and the actor was snapped smoking a cigarette.

Patrick Swayze, who is battling pancreatic cancer, was rumored dead this morning.

Swayze’s rep set the record straight about the rumored death:

“This is to confirm that Patrick Swayze did not pass away this morning contrary to severely reckless reports stemming from a radio station in Jacksonville, Florida. Patrick Swayze is alive, well and is enjoying his life and he continues to respond to treatment.”

Patrick Swayze pal Whoopi Goldberg said in a recent interview that her Ghost co-star was in “good spirits.”

Whoopi Goldberg said of Patrick Swayze’s cancer: “He’s doing what everybody else is doing. He’s taking it one day at a time. He does not have an expiration date on his backside, you know, none of us do. We just know at some point it’s going to happen. That’s how he’s looking at it.”

Goldberg also commented that Swayze, who has been battling pancreatic cancer, is “thin, but he’s in good spirits.”

While no details have yet been revealed about when the tell-all will be published, look for Patrick Swayze’s book to discuss his journey in life up to his current battle against cancer.

Patrick Swayze tells the New York Times, “I just love to work hard. I do find myself, at the end of the day, riding home sort of catching myself with a smile on my face. I’m proud of what I’m doing.”

As for his treatment, Patrick Swayze says, “I’m still fine to work. I haven’t changed – oh, I have changed, what am I saying? It’s a battle zone I go though. Chemo, no matter how you cut it, is hell on wheels.”

Swayze continues, “How do you nurture a positive attitude when all the statistics say you’re a dead man? You go to work.”

Remarkable.

Patrick Swayze commented on his health, saying, “I’m a miracle dude, I don’t know why.”

Patrick Swayze, 55, was on his way to begin filming the TV show “The Beast” in Chicago.

“Thought I’d give you guys a little update. Lisa and I have been back and forth from New Mexico enjoying the arrival of spring and new baby calves. This past weekend, we spent a fun time with friends in Reno for Lisa’s birthday, where I took her jewelry shopping at Kenny G & Company and (we) were able to find her something really special and much deserved! In the meantime, I am continuing treatment at Stanford and the great news is I continue to respond well.”

Patrick Swayze announced in March that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
