The first poster for “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” doesn’t seem all that racy, but the MPAA is none-too-thrilled with the subtle sexual content displayed on the poster.

The “Zack and Miri” movie poster is allowed to be displayed in Canada… Kevin Smith says of the Canadian support, “I’ve always loved Canada and Canadians for giving us hockey. Now, I love ‘em just a little bit more. For allowing tufts of hair.”

The Motion Picture Association of America revised the rating after the group’s appeals board viewed the movie.

Kevin Smith told the Associated Press,”We didn’t set out to make an NC-17 film. That’s just commercial suicide.”

“Zack and Miri Make a Porno,” starring Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks, will hit theaters October 31.The R rating ensures that more people will be able to see it as an NC-17 prohibits anyone under 17 from seeing it.

Kevin Smith told Usmagazine.com, Ben Affleck “came over last week and told me, ‘I’m having another baby!’ I said, ‘Right on!’”

Guess this latest pregnancy buzz supports Jennifer Garner’s bigger tops these days and the couples’ hunt for a new (and bigger) home.

The MPAA gave “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” the NC-17 rating for “some graphic sexuality.”

Not for lack of trying, Kevin Smith is still trying to get an R-rating, as noted on MPAA’s site, which says “Pending Appeal.” But will Kevin Smith have to sacrifice his original vision to snag the R-rating?

Kevin Smith wrote the following on his blog:

“Courtesy of Peter Sciretta over at SlashFilm.com, I caught an early screening of “The Dark Knight” yesterday evening.Without giving anything away, this is an epic film (and trust me: based on the sheer size and scope of the visuals and storytelling, that’s not an overstatement). It’s the “Godfather II” of comic book films and three times more earnest than “Batman Begins” (and fuck, was that an earnest film). Easily the most adult comic book film ever made. Heath Ledger didn’t so much give a performance as he disappeared completely into the role; I know I’m not the first to suggest this, but he’ll likely get at least an Oscar nod (if not the win) for Best Supporting Actor. Fucking flick’s nearly three hours long and only leaves you wanting more (in a great way). I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed by it. Nolan and crew have created something close to a masterpiece.”

More than a dozen celebrities will blog on the NHL site about their favorite temams during the Stanley Cup playoffs.

“As NHL.com bloggers, they can be irreverent and candid about their love for the NHL,” she said.

Jason Reitman told the Associated Press:

“I’d come to really love the game and I was just a little upset because I felt there was more of an opportunity for particularly Americans to know about the game and follow the game.

This year is a little depressing because my two teams, the (Vancouver) Canucks and the (Los Angeles) Kings, neither of them are in the playoffs,” he said, adding that the invitation came “when the Canucks still had a chance.

“Now the Canucks aren’t in it. So what I decided is that I’m going to write a kind of mythical blog about what the Canucks and Kings would be doing had they still been in. In my version, for the first time in NHL history, the Canucks and the Kings will be the first two Western Conference teams to actually meet in the Stanley Cup finals.”

“Zack & Miri Make a Porno,” starring Seth Rogan and Elizabeth Banks, is currently shooting in Pennsylvania.

Seth Rogan and Elizabeth Banks play friends who are so broke they turn to making a porno to pay the bills. But hey, there’s a heart to the story too. Their characters discover they love each other in the process.

Will the movie’s title turn off movie goers?

According to Kevin Smith, “We’re just hoping that by the time the movie comes out, if the marketing people do their jobs right, it’s a word that people will kind of get over.”

Movie analyst Jeff Bock says of the title, “It’s one of the best titles of the year.”

Bock also notes that Kevin Smith fans are loyal: “They’ll follow him anywhere. I don’t think anything is too risqué for Kevin Smith fans.”

Rogen is a hot property these days, having produced and appeared in 2007’s Knocked Up and Superbad, and written Superbad. He also voiced Shrek the Third, and will appear in or voice five other movies in 2008: Fanboys, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Pineapple Express (also writing and producing), Kung Fu Panda, and Horton Hears a Who! He has also written Drillbit Taylor, which is in production for this year.

Elizabeth Banks plays Dr. Kim Briggs in Scrubs, was in Fred Claus in 2007, and is appearing in four other movies this year: A Tale of Two Sisters, Starship Dave, Little Big Men, and Definitely, Maybe. She’ll also be in 2009’s Lovely, Still, and in 2010’s The H-Man Cometh.
