Check out the new preview for Kevin Smith’s “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” in the trailer video above – it may be worth checking out when it’s released October 31.
Alright, so from the get-go, Kevin Smith’s latest, “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” has had a bumpy ride. First the original NC-17 MPAA rating (which was later overturned to an R) and now the banned (in the U.S.) movie poster.
The first poster for “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” doesn’t seem all that racy, but the MPAA is none-too-thrilled with the subtle sexual content displayed on the poster. Read the rest of this entry »
It was touch and go there for filmmaker Kevin Smith and his upcoming film “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” – the director was fighting for an R rating after the Motion Picture Association of America wanted to slap it with an NC-17. Kevin Smith comes out a winner though – as he won an appeal to lower the rating for “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” to an R.

Sounds like Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s friends can’t keep quiet about Jennifer Garner’s pregancy. First, Victor Garber leaked the baby news, now Kevin Smith is confirming a Jennifer Garner pregnancy.

It comes as little surprise that Kevin Smith’s latest undertaking, “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” has earned an NC-17 rating. By title alone, it seemed unlikely that the MPAA would give it an R-rating.

Starting Wednesday, celebrities will begin blogging for the National Hockey League’s (NHL) web site. The celebrities involved include “Juno” director Jason Reitman, “The Hills” Lauren Conrad, Dierks Bentley, Kevin Smith, David Boreanaz, A.J. Buckley, Tom Cavanagh, William Fichtner and Geoff Stults.

Kevin Smith has finished casting for his upcoming movie Zack and Miri Make a Porno. In the lead roles are Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks, respectively. Also appearing are former pornstar gone legit Traci Lords, Jason Mewes, Craig Robinson, Ricky Mabe, Jeff Anderson, and Katie Morgan.
Rogen is a hot property these days, having produced and appeared in 2007’s Knocked Up and Superbad, and written Superbad. He also voiced Shrek the Third, and will appear in or voice five other movies in 2008: Fanboys, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Pineapple Express (also writing and producing), Kung Fu Panda, and Horton Hears a Who! He has also written Drillbit Taylor, which is in production for this year.
Elizabeth Banks plays Dr. Kim Briggs in Scrubs, was in Fred Claus in 2007, and is appearing in four other movies this year: A Tale of Two Sisters, Starship Dave, Little Big Men, and Definitely, Maybe. She’ll also be in 2009’s Lovely, Still, and in 2010’s The H-Man Cometh.

Film School Rejects has a post detailing how you could be in a Kevin Smith “porno” film. It’s actually called “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” and Smith is having a contest of sorts, but you do get paid (minimum wage). It’s shooting in Pittsburgh, PA, in mid-January 2008.
