It’ll be nice to see Kate Winslet and Leonardio DiCaprio back on the big screen again – the first time since the pair starred in Titanic together. Leonardo DiCapriio and Kate Winslet will next appear in the dark film “Revolutionary Road,” directed by Kate Winslet’s husband, Sam Mendes. Movie makeup magic! Kate Winslet is magically transformed into an old woman with an exceptional makeup job for her new film, “The Reader.” This picture of an old Kate Winslet was taken on the set of The Reader in Berlin on Friday.

Kate Winslet plays Hanna Schmitz, an illiterate woman and former guard at Auschwitz for the Nazi organization under Adolf Hitler.

Kate Winslet has to age by several decades during the course of the film, which co-stars Ralph Fiennes. The Reader is set to open in theaters on December 12, 2008.

Kate Winslet Replaces Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman finally admitted that she is pregnant, then pulled out of filming for The Reader (Dec 12th). Kate Winslett will take over for Kidman.

Kidman is also working on Australia this year, and for 2009, Need, and The Lady from Shanghai. No word on whether she’ll drop out of these or whether they’ll be delayed. Maybe this is why she was initially denying being pregnant? It must play havoc with contracts. (Though Julia Roberts was three months pregnant when she did the bikini scene in Charlie Wilson’s War.)
