Jessica Simpson’s movie Major Movie Star enjoyed a number 1 opening in Russia, but in the states, it will be released straight to video – and with a name change.

Major Movie star has been renamed “Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous” and will be available February 3. I can’t imagine that the name change is going to move it off the shelves any faster though.

Poor Jessica Simpson. First she finds a great guy, Tony Romo, but his Dallas Cowboy fans think she’s a jinx. Then her movie, Blonde Ambition, tanks in the six Texan theaters it open at on Dec 21st. And now the guy dumps her for being too needy. Oh well, at least her movie came out on DVD this week, in case anyone wants to see it.

While Jessica Simpson’s movie Blonde Ambition bombed in the eight theaters it was released in in Texas the past weekend, it did not not break any records for lowest box office receipts. Apparently the record lowest box office receipts goes to loud-mouthed Katherine Heigl in 2006’s Zyzzx Road, which apparently grossed $20 on opening night and a total of $30 for the weekend. According to IMDB trivia, $10 was refunded to a member of the film crew who went to see it.

Oddly enough, Zyzzx Road also opened only in Texas, but only in one theater. Blonde Ambition opened in eight. Lesson to independent movie houses: don’t release crappy films in Texas theaters?

Wondering what “Zyzzx Road” is? The movie seems to actually be about a similarly-named real road called “Zzyzx Rd”, which is an I-15 exit between Las Vegas and L.A.

Jessica Simpson gives the term “blonde bombshell” a new meaning. Considering that fans of the Dallas Cowboys – the team her boyfriend Tony Romo plays on – don’t like her, is it surprising Simpson didn’t appear at Saturday’s Cowboys game?

If you’re not a Dallas Cowboys fan, you might want to check out the Ruin Romo website. It has a mask of Jessica’s face that you can print out and paste to cardboard and hold up in front of your face. Apparently Jessica’s presence cause Romo to have the worst game of his career last week. So a whole stadium of opposing teams’ fans should destroy his career, and maybe that of Terrell Owens, who told Simpson she was bad luck.

Maybe instead of doing movies, Jessica should stick to singing Christmas jingles with acid-addled Ozzy Osbourne (below).

Jessica Simpson stated recently that she wants to be taken as a serious actress and that she thinks the way to do achieve that is to take a movie role with a full-frontal nude scene. Now while she did get down to her “Daisy Dukes” short shorts in the Dukes of Hazzard movie, there were definitely no nude scenes.

Don’t forget that Jessica is ready to become a serious actress and is looking for a nude role.

When Jessica Simpson indicated that she wants to be taken seriously as an actress, I thought, “that’s cool.” But her idea of being taken seriously is to equate that to doing a full-frontal nude scene. She thinks that this is the only way, even though her family is against and even she doesn’t really want to do.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. I’d always thought you get taken seriously as an actress when you can actually act. That means NOT doing TV-rehash films like Dukes of Hazzard (clip below).

What would be sad is if some offered her an “opportunity”, only to have the film bomb. Work on your acting first, girlfriend. Or maybe you can approach a company who sells canned champagne and offer to be nude and painted gold, like Paris Hilton.
