Entertainment Weekly is offering up this first picture of Jake Gyllenhaal as Prince Dastan in Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.
Jake Gyllenhaal says of the role, “I’m tired of taking myself so seriously. It’s nice when a stuntman turns to you and is like, ‘Actors don’t normally do this.’”

Check out the trailer video for “Brothers,” starring Natalie Portman, Tobey Maguire, Jake Gyllenhaal. Brothers opens in theaters December 4, and tells the story of a decorated Marine (Maguire) who goes missing and is presumed dead while his younger brother (Gyllenhaal) takes care of the wife and kids.
Maguire’s character, Sam, was captured but returns home and becomes suspicious that his wife and brother may have slept together. Definitely not a feel-good holiday movie.
Jim Carrey and Jake Gyllenhaal are warming up their vocal chords to star in a remake of the musical “Damn Yankees.”

The news of a Donnie Darko sequel seems like blasphemy to some hardcore fans of the cult classic starring Jake Gyllenhaal. But Donnie Darko 2, titled S. Darko, is set to begin filming on May 18.

No sh*t, Sherlock dept: A friend of Jake Gyllenhaal says that he is taking Heath Ledger’s death harder than most people. Uh, duh. Maybe that’s because he was actually a close friend, unlike a lot of other stars that were asked about Ledger? It takes more than a week to get over someone you cared about. Sometimes years or decades. Should he have been partying and making out with someone instead, like Mary-Kate Olsen was supposedly doing?
On top of Ledger’s death, Gyllenhaal also has to deal with criticism about his relationship with Reese Witherspoon – from his mother (Naomi Foner) and ex Kirsten Dunst, no less.
Give me a break dept: Apparently the relationship between Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal is drawing negative response from Ryan Phillipe (her ex), Kirsten Dunst (his ex), and Naomi Foner (his mother). If this story is true, then Kirsten had hoped to reunite with Gyllenhaal. And supposedly his mother had hoped he would find a younger woman. Meoooowwww. Witherspoon turns 32 in March. What an old bag. Gyllenhaal will be 28 in December. Dunst will be 26 in April.
Witherspoon with appear in Tokyo Suckerpunch and Four Christmases this year. Gyllenhaal will appear in Brothers this year. Rumor is that they’re getting closer to an engagement.
