More details about Terrence Howard being recast in Iron Man 2 has been revealed – it was originally thought that Howard was too difficult to work with, but now insiders are revealing that he was the highest paid of all of the actors in Iron Man because he was signed first to the film.
Other reasons for Terrence Howard being bumped from the Iron Man sequel include his performance in this original, which apparently led to a lot of editing and reshoots. Director Jon Favreau has not yet commented on this rumor.
Don Cheadle will replace Terrence Howard as Col. Jim Rhodes.
Robert Downey Jr. will return as Iron Man in the Marvel Studios superhero film The Avengers, according to Variety.

A sad day for fans of Oscar-winning visual effects artist Stan Winston — the special-effects genius died yesterday after suffering from cancer. Stan Winston was 62.

This Tropic Thunder “viral video” had to have been the funniest short of the night — check out Robert Downey Jr. (in Iron Man mask) take on Jack Black (with Kung Fu Panda mask) as Ben Stiller directs and his nephew Carl calls the shots.
Well, what did you expect? Naturally, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was the big winner at the box office during its opening weekend — earning $126 million over its first four days.

Not surprisingly, plans for a sequel to the uber successful Iron Man are already in the works — Iron Man 2 is expected to hit theaters April 30, 2010.
And more Marvel comics will be hitting the big screen too — Thor, with a June 4, 2010 release date, The First Avenger: Captain America, due in theaters May 5, 2011, The Avengers (July 2011) and Ant-Man (no release date available).
Naturally, this early in the game, no announcements about casting the new Marvel comic films have been made.
