Wow. It was no surprise to see that Heath Ledger won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar award for his role as The Joker in the Dark Knight – but the moving acceptance speech by Heath Ledger’s family (dad Kim Ledger, mom and sister) was certainly a special moment. The 2009 SAG “In Memoriam” Tribute video presented at the January 25 Screen Actors Guild awards did not include Heath Ledger to many people’s dismay. Heath Ledger was included in the 2008 SAG In Memoriam tribute, despite the fact that he died in 2008.

Accordingt to “The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus” director Terry Gilliam, “They didn’t take money — it goes to Heath’s daughter. That’s extraordinary! And wonderful . . . and when you’re part of that, you think, ‘Ah, this is maybe why I went into the movies in the beginning. Mary-Kate Olsen is looking for immunity from prosecution in the Heath Ledger overdose death case. Mary-Kate’s cooperation in the federal investigation is contingent upon immunity.
Mary-Kate Olsen could be subpoenaed by investigators – questioning the actress about her role in 28-year-old Ledger’s death on January 22. As you may recall, he was discovered by his masseuse, who then called Mary-Kate Olsen before calling 911.
