Thanksgiving 2008 has us giving thanks, passing the turkey and kicking off the holiday movie season. Thanksgiving 2008 movie releases include the holiday comedy “Four Christmases,” the epic Nicole Kidman/Hugh Jackman film “Australia” and the return of Jason Statham in the action flick “Transporter 3.”

There’s something for everyone in these Thanksgiving releases – plus teens can still flock to the theaters for their third/fourth/fifth viewing of “Twilight” and family friendly “Bolt” and “Madagascar 2″ are still going strong.

2008 Thanksgiving holiday movie releases include:
Australia
An epic romance set against the backdrop of beautiful Australia, this Hugh Jackman/Nicole Kidman flick hasn’t garnered many good reviews.

Four Christmases

The holiday dysfunctional family movie, Four Christmases offers up Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon, but fails to deliver on laughs, according to critics.

Transporter 3

Will Jason Statham’s third go-around connect with audiences? Who cares – if you’re going in search of an action flick, this is the only one that fits the bill.

Another film worth noting, “Milk,” starring Sean Penn, opens in limited release over the Thanksgiving holiday.

The movie Four Christmases (Dec 2008) is a comedy starring Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn. It seems that Witherspoon is balking at the way the sex scene is written.
The movie Four Christmases (Dec 2008) is a comedy starring Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn. It seems that Witherspoon is balking at the way the sex scene is written. But as Page Six points out, with Vaughn being one of the producers on this project, the scene is unlikely to change. Body double time?

The other problem with a scene rewrite is that the Writer’s Guild is still on strike. In fact members picketed the Four Christmases set a few weeks ago, chanting “quiet on the set” and “no rewrites”. (Video clip below.)

Also appearing in Four Christmases are Kristin Chenoweth, Sissy Spacek, Mary Steenburgen, Robert Duvall, Jon Favreau, Tim McGraw, Dwight Yoakam, Stephanie Venditto.

Vaughn will also appear in Outsourced and The H-Man Cometh in 2008. Witherspoon will also be in Tokyo Suckerpunch.

[By the way, if you don't know who Kristin Chenoweth is, she's the radiant "Olive Snook" on the brilliant new American TV series Pushing Daisies (British slang for being dead and buried).]
