The sequel to the animated hit “Madagascar,” scheduled for a November 7 release, will have a couple of new voice talents joining the cast: Bernie Mac and Alec Baldwin.
“Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa” will include Ben Stiller as Alex the lion, Chris Rock as Marty the zebra, and David Schwimmer as Melman the giraffe.
Bernie Mac will voice Zuba, Alex’s dad and head of the pride, while Alec Baldwin will play Makunga, a challenger to Zuba.
Other voices joining the “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa” cast are Sherri Shepherd (”The View”) as Alex’s mom and Will.i.am as Moto Moto.
This Tropic Thunder “viral video” had to have been the funniest short of the night — check out Robert Downey Jr. (in Iron Man mask) take on Jack Black (with Kung Fu Panda mask) as Ben Stiller directs and his nephew Carl calls the shots.

It’s the countdown to the 2008 MTV Movie Awards (Sunday, June 1st) — and isn’t one of the best parts of the show always the short films? There’s always so much funny packed into the short bits that weave throughout the awards show and MTV has enlisted Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr. and Jack Black to create their own short films. Check them out this Sunday!

Ben Stiller’s short film is said to be a “very funny tribute to viral films.”
I’d love to be clued in to why the movie quote “What are you going to do, spoon me to death?” is such a hot Google search on March 11. But I think I can shed some light on the mysterious movie quote. It’s got to be from the Ben Stiller flick “Mystery Men.”
I did some digging, and while some claim the line “What are you going (gonna) to do, spoon me to death?” is from the movie “The Whole Nine Yards,” I’d wager that the 1999 film “Mystery Men” is more likely. Read the rest of this entry »
