Ashton Kutcher, CNN Twitter Race – Kutcher Reaches 1 Million Followers First

The Ashton Kutcher/CNN Twitter race is over – shortly after 11 p.m. Pacific time, Ashton Kutcher reached the 1 million follower mark, besting CNN by 1,200 followers. In the video above, Ashton Kutcher celebrates his victory over CNN.

The Ashton Kutcher, CNN Twitter race makes Kutcher the first Twitterer to have one million followers.

Naturally, Asthon Kutcher tweeted about the CNN defeat, saying, “Victory is ours… We have shown the world that the new wave is here, it is present and it is ready to explode… You guys are all of it because I can’t follow me, so I don’t even count.”

Kutcher had pledged to pay $100,000 to the Malaria No More fund if he reached one million followers first.

Ashton Kutcher noticed his growing number of Twitter followers and decided to make a healthy challenge out of it against CNN Breaking News – check out the Ashton Kutcher video clip above where he promises to ding-dong-ditch Ted Turner’s house if he reaches 1 million followers before CNN Breaking News.

Kutcher sweetened the deal by offering his 1 millionth follower the game Guitar Hero… but later made a really sweet offer. He said if he beats CNN to 1 million, he’ll buy 10,000 bed nets to help fight malaria in third world countries.

Game maker Electronic Arts later offered to help Kutcher by offering the 1 millionth Kutcher follower a part in a future EA game.

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore might be cutting their ties with Kabbalah. According to MSNBC, they used to have an “impeccable attendance record” at the Kabballah Centre in L.A. but have not shown up for months for any services or Shabbat.

Kutcher will appear in What Happens in Vegas in 2008 and Personal Effects in 2009. Moore will provide voicework for the TV movie The Magic 7 in 2008.
