Cate Blanchett Suffers Head Injury During Performance of Streetcar

Ouch! Actress Cate Blanchett suffered a head injury during a live performance of “A Streetcar Named Desire” yesterday – Blanchett was hit on the head by a prop.
The scene featured Cate Blanchett as Blanche DuBois, and Joel Edgerton as Stanley Kowalski – he threw a radio (as the script instructs), but it accidentally hit Cate on the head.
The performance at the theater was canceled while Cate Blanchett could get medical attention.
An audience member recalls, “She had blood streaming down the back of her head and blood on the back of her neck. She acted for about another 30 seconds, then ran into what we thought was the next scene, but before we knew it the lights were turned on and we were told there were technical difficulties and everyone had to evacuate the Sydney Theatre Company.”
Cate is said to be fine after the incident.
