Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Return to the Big Screen in Remake?

So, Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans may have been initially stoked by the idea of Buffy returning to the big screen (remember, the hit TV series was based on the film) – but not so fast, fans. The new Buffy the Vampire Slayer would not include Sarah Michelle Gellar in the title role, nor would series creator Joss Whedon be on board.
Kuzui Enterprises, who owns the rights to the series, are planning a revamp of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, hoping to make a splash on the big screen. But, there would be no connection with the TV series that fans love – so, no Angel, Willow, Xander or Spike – but rather, new characters for a new generation. Blech.
The new Buffy the Vampire sequel is not planned as a prequel or sequel, but rather a remake.
