A Bob Marley biography is expected to hit the big screen in late 2009.
The Weinstein Co. has optioned rights to Bob Marley’s widow’s (Rita Marley) 2004 autobiography, “No Woman No Cry: My Life With Bob Marley.” Rita Marley will serve as executive producer on the film.
Rita Marley commented on bringing Bob Marley’s life to the big screen, saying, “I’ve waited a long time to tell this story, about growing up in Jamaica and meeting Bob and making our music and falling in love and making our family. All that, and all that we went through, went into this. Now is that time. This is my story.”
No casting details have been announced about who will play reggae legend Bob Marley or his widow.
