2008 MTV Movie Awards – Movie Crunch Predicts Category Winners
The big day is here — the 2008 MTV Movie Awards will air tonight at 8 PM! Check out this list for the top 5 reasons to tune in — and take a look at Movie Crunch’s predictions for each category’s winner:
2008 MTV Movie Awards Best Movie:
Juno
National Treasure: Book of Secrets
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End
I Am Legend
Superbad
Transformers
Movie Crunch predicts Superbad for the best movie category. It’s raunchy and cool, what more could you ask for?
2008 MTV Movie Awards Best Villain:
Angelina Jolie for Beowulf
Javier Bardem for No Country for Old Men
Johnny Depp for Sweeney Todd
Topher Grace for Spider-Man 3
Denzel Washington for American Gangster
Although we lean towards all things Johnny Depp (He sings, he kills. He’s hot. ‘Nuff said.), we’re wondering if baddie Javier Bardem won’t kill in this category.
2008 MTV Movie Awards Best Performance:
Best Male Performance
Will Smith for I Am Legend
Denzel Washington for American Gangster
Matt Damon for The Bourne Ultimatum
Shia LaBeouf for Transformers
Michael Cera for Juno
Our heart says Michael Cera (c’mon, how sweet is he?), but Will Smith is always a powerhouse in these categories. And I Am Legend was creepy as all hell.
Best Female Performance
Amy Adams for Enchanted
Katherine Heigl for Knocked Up
Ellen Page for Juno
Jessica Biel for I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry
Keira Knightley for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End
Ellen Page has this category locked up, dontcha think?
2008 MTV Movie Awards Breakthrough Performance:
Nikki Blonsky for Hairspray
Michael Cera for Superbad
Zac Efron for Hairspray
Chris Brown for This Christmas
Megan Fox for Transformers
Jonah Hill for Superbad
Seth Rogen for Knocked Up
Christopher Mintz-Plasse for Superbad
We love McLovin (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), but we’re gonna have to throw our prediction Jonah Hill’s way. Hottie Megan Fox may prevail in this category though, just on pure sex appeal.
2008 MTV Movie Awards Best Comedic Performance:
Jonah Hill for Superbad
Amy Adams for Enchanted
Seth Rogen for Knocked Up
Adam Sandler for I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry
Johnny Depp for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End
We love Johnny Depp, but Jonah Hill is the hands-down Superbad badass winner for best comedic performance.
2008 MTV Movie Awards Best Kiss:
Shia LaBeouf and Sarah Roemer for Disturbia
Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey for Enchanted
Ellen Page and Michael Cera for Juno
Briana Evigan and Robert Hoffman for Step Up 2 the Streets
Daniel Radcliffe and Katie Leung for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Aw, with such a sweet young love kiss between Ellen Page and Michael Cera, these two have to take the best kiss category for their smooch in Juno.
2008 MTV Movie Awards Best Fight:
Hayden Christensen against Jamie Bell in Jumper
Matt Damon against Joey Ansah in The Bourne Ultimatum
Sean Faris against Cam Gigandet in Never Back Down
Tobey Maguire against James Franco in Spider-Man 3
“Alien” against “Predator” in Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem
Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan against Sun Ming Ming in Rush Hour 3
You know a fight’s good when lots of stuff gets trashed, so we’ll go with Matt Damon’s take down of Joey Ansah in The Bourne Ultimatum on this one.
2008 MTV Movie Awards Best Summer Movie You Haven’t Seen Yet:
Iron Man
Sex and the City
Speed Racer
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
This 2008 MTV Movie awards category is genius — sorry ladies of Sex and the City, this award has got to go to Iron Man.
